Your Mind

You are one of the most intelligent people I know and you are constantly using your smarts to find ways to make this world a better place. I love the way you think and how unafraid you are to try new things and encourage the people you love to do the same. Never a dull time with you Maira!

Your Work Ethic

I don't know how you have fifty-leven jobs and manage to kill it at all of them. It's very clear that whatever you set your mind's eye on, you accomplish. Not for the sake of productivity but because what you do has real/tangible impact on the lives of so many people. Love having a front row seat and witnessing your greatness

Your Heart

The way you've shown up for me, your friends, your family, AND the wider Chicago community is a true testament to who you are and what you value most in this life. You've taught me through action what it looks like to truly show up for those around you. It's deeply inspiring and has positively influenced the ways I show up for my people

Officially kicking off Mai's book club, let's read together! This book was written by my favorite H.S Professor Bushra Rehman, it's about a queer Pakistani girl who grew up in Queens and it combines so much of our lives and felt so connected to our beings. I can't wait to read it with you!
